The typical routine for a traditional crown is time consuming and difficult. After the dentist tells you a damaged tooth needs a crown, you have a new appointment to get the tooth prepared. The dental team uses uncomfortable goop to obtain an impression and then places a temporary crown. For two weeks you hope the temporary crown doesn’t come off or break, requiring an interim visit to replace it. Once the outside lab finishes creating the permanent crown, you return to the office for placement. If it's not a perfect fit, the whole process starts all over again.
